When looking for CPR/First Aid training accepted by Child Care Licensing and The Nevada Registry, follow these guidelines:
- Find an instructor issuing an official card from one of these authorized agencies: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Medic First Aid International, EMS Safety Services, American Safety and Health Institute or HSI. A card issued under a person’s business name is not accepted, even if it bears the logo of one of the recognized organizations. For example; “Sally Nevada’s CPR Training” (with a the logo from the AHA). If Sally Nevada is a certified instructor through the AHA, she can issue an official AHA card.
- Confirm the CPR course includes in-person skills demonstration. Online-only CPR courses are not accepted.
- Select a CPR course which includes an infant/child/pediatric component. Adult-only CPR does not meet the licensing requirement and will not be accepted.
