Virtual Training Guidelines and Resources

The COVID-19 pandemic created unique and unforeseen challenges in our world. Virtual training became a necessary part of our daily work and personal lives to stay connected with one another and to continue to serve our communities during the pandemic. It forced trainers and training agencies to think differently about their training delivery practices in the face of social distancing requirements. As a result, there was an increased desire, and need, to convert traditional in-person training sessions into “virtual” training opportunities. The Nevada Registry responded to this new need by creating processes for the approval of virtual training delivery, including delivery guidelines and training resources.

Though developed in response to the pandemic, virtual training continues to meet the needs of the ECE workforce in Nevada; particularly educators living in rural areas with limited access to in-person training. It has helped diversify training and professional development options for ECE educators and has significantly reduced geographical barriers by making training accessible to anyone, regardless of physical residence. If you are a Registry-approved trainer interested in delivering virtual training sessions, you may find some of these resources helpful as you begin to develop engaging training for your virtual participants. Regardless of the training format you choose to deliver, the goal is always to deliver high-quality professional development that will ultimately contribute to positive outcomes for children.
