The Nevada Registry, in partnership with the Nevada Early Childhood Obesity Prevention Workgroup (ECOP), has created Content Guidelines, Course Objectives and Trainer Qualifications for Wellness courses designed to meet the annual Child Care Licensing training requirement for Lifelong Wellness. The new criteria go into effect on February 1, 2025.
What is New?
As of February 2025, Wellness courses must contain age and developmental levels as well as three different levels of knowledge: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. All Wellness training must also contain at least two hours of content to meet the new requirement, regardless of the level of training (one hour Wellness courses will no longer be approved). As we transition to the new approval criteria, previously approved Wellness courses cannot be duplicated for training dates beyond 1/15/25.
Get Prepared!
Please use the new guidelines to review your currently approved Wellness training sessions. You may find only minor modifications are needed to meet the new criterion, or that a complete re-design is in order. Your modified or redesigned courses must be resubmitted as new training sessions for approval, as no previously approved Wellness courses will be duplicated going forward.

These resources and a wealth of additional information to support you as an approved trainer with The Nevada Registry can be found on the ‘Trainer Resources’ page of The Nevada Registry’s website.
Ready! Set! Go!
You may begin submitting your modified/new Wellness trainings sessions any time. Please be aware as we transition to the new approval criteria, there will be overlap between currently approved Wellness training sessions being delivered before February 2025 and Wellness training sessions meeting the new guidelines. Both will be posted to the Training Calendar (if applicable), but the training sessions meeting the new guidelines will be flagged differently so it is easy to tell the difference.
