Message from the DWSS Child Care Development Program:

Childcare providers in Nevada can bill for state holidays if:

  • The holiday falls on a day the center would normally be open.
  • The center is closed because of the holiday.
  • The day is part of the child’s approved schedule.

Mark holidays with an “H” on the timesheet. If the center is open and the child doesn’t attend, a discretionary day may be used. Only one provider can bill for the holiday if the child has multiple providers.

Holidays include:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Washington’s Birthday
  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Nevada Day
  • Veteran’s Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Family Day
  • Christmas
