Message from the DWSS Child Care Development Program:
Childcare providers in Nevada can bill for state holidays if:
- The holiday falls on a day the center would normally be open.
- The center is closed because of the holiday.
- The day is part of the child’s approved schedule.
Mark holidays with an “H” on the timesheet. If the center is open and the child doesn’t attend, a discretionary day may be used. Only one provider can bill for the holiday if the child has multiple providers.
Holidays include:
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Washington’s Birthday
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Nevada Day
- Veteran’s Day
- Thanksgiving
- Family Day
- Christmas
