The National Workforce Registry Alliance’s (NWRA) newest brief released today is designed to help states think more holistically about what it takes to run a registry capable of comprehensive, high-quality data collection and establishing pathways to access or leverage that data. According to the NWRA, there are currently 45 registries managing over 2.6M registry users nationwide. Despite this incredible reach, most registries are critically underfunded and understaffed for the work they are tasked to perform. This brief shines a light on the roles and specialized skills deemed necessary to operate a robust and sustainable registry, as well as the need for adequate investments in registries to support increasing demands for workforce data collection and reporting.
