I hope that this email finds you and those you love safe and well.
At 12:01 AM ET, Wednesday, October 14, we finally are able to release findings from the first-ever large-scale study of the risk of working in child care during the COVID-19 pandemic. In May and June, more than 57,000 child care providers like you provided us the information we needed to provide you answers about whether working in child care increases your risk of COVID-19 or contributes to its spread.
You may remember that I promised we would host a free briefing to discuss with you the findings and answer as many of your questions as possible. I intend to make good on that promise. The data in this study belong to you (not me), and you deserve a full and honest description of what we did and did not find.
This peer-reviewed medical study will be published in January 2021 by Pediatrics, the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics. But the journal will be releasing the findings and report early because of the important implications they have regarding COVID-19 and health.
