Reporting your current and previous employment in Early Childhood (ECE) is an important part of the initial and renewal application process with The Nevada Registry. It helps create an accurate picture of your overall experience in ECE and is factored into your Career Ladder level (up to 4,000 hours).

Here are a few tips for creating the most complete ECE-related employment record:

  • Please be as detailed as possible. To help expedite the data entry process, all currently licensed child care facilities in Nevada (and many other types of programs) are included in a dropdown list to help you quickly make a selection. The name of the program will begin to populate once you enter the name or address of the facility. TIP: When searching by address, please exclude any extensions like Boulevard, Street, etc. and only enter the main name of the street. For example, rather than searching for 123 Alphabet Boulevard, just enter ‘Alphabet’ to filter your search.
  • If any of your previous employment occurred outside the state of Nevada, select ‘Out of State’ for the facility name.
  • Avoid selecting ‘Currently Not Working in ECE’ if you cannot find your current employer. This will affect your total number of direct service hours and could impact your Career Ladder level as well as eligibility for certain special initiatives.

Documenting Additional Experience
Are you already a member but the years of self-reported  ECE experience displayed on your certificate seems low? It is likely because all your ECE employment was not provided at the time of your initial application. No worries! You can submit additional ECE experience by completing this form. Any information not already on file will be added to your account at no charge.
